Recurring theme.... lets go some where different! Well there are only so many places we can go in our bay.

So far we have done the the isle of caves twice and pitwater once.

In the past we have done trips to cremorne, sloping island, and laps of the bay.

Suggestions?

Have not done an Iron Pot from Lauderdale yet - 54 kms or about 5nm longer than what we sailed 2 weeks ago about 5 nm shorter than the Marathon leg Lauderdale to Montrose planned for end Feb and a test run -- only a suggestion!

Reckon you might need to restrict this one to the Div 1 boats. Otherwise the fleet would be too spread out.

I can see why the Div 1 boats would want to go that way, depending on the weather it should be great.
If you dropped a mark halfway for Div 2 wouldnt that more than likely create a long run back to the club which wouldnt be real exciting ?
If Div 2 goes the other way along past the airport does that split the support boats too much ?

Just thoughts.

We cant really split the pick up boats, the problem is that if a boat needs to be towed home then there would be no one left to keep an eye on the fleet.

The trip around sloping is a bit short for div 1 as it only takes about 45 minutes in any kind of breeze. what if we did it two time for div 1 and once for div 2?

Unless the fleet sit in a hole for an hour or so like the last time!! LOL!!! I can remember Richard and Henk taking off in light breezes - only to wait for us all in around the back of the island in no breeze!! Mighty nice of them really!! Seems to be the way of the long distance races these days!! Ehhheehh!! Don't you reckon Dazz?
