Because of conflict with the crown series regatta the Long Distance race has been moved forward to the weekend of the 20th
INVITATION The Lauderdale Yacht Club invites all classes of Catamaran with a yardstickof less than 84 or Dinghy with a yardstickof less than 94 to enter and compete in The Ultra Marathon (that is the stray Sharpie, B14, 49er or foiler Moth welcome. This is 2 races. On the Saturday from Lauderdalale to the Iron Pot and up the Derwent to Montrose . A distance of 33 nautical miles. With a reasonable breeze about 3 to 4 hours sailing. And then on the Sunday we retrace the route back to Lauderdale.
Each day briefing and boat check at 10am with start at 11am
1. Rules: 1.1 The Event will be governed by the rules as defined in the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the Special Regulations of Yachting Australia (YA), the relevant Class Rules (as applicable), the Official Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions. 1.2 All competitors will wear positive personal buoyancy at all times whilst racing. This amends Other Requirements When Racing Rule 40 of the RRS. 1.3 All classes will be required to sail to their Class Rules and Specifications. No changes will be accepted. If a boat doesn’t have a yardstick, it may be eligible to enter at the discretion of the Organizing Authority if it complies with the safety regulations (see item 3).
2. Eligibility & Entry 2.1 The race is open to off the beach multihulls and monohulls. Monohulls with Y/S rating of less than or equal to 94 Multihulls without spinnakers. Y/S rating no higher than 80 Multihulls with spinnakers. Y/S rating no higher than 80. 2.2 This is a tough endurance event and all nominated crews must consist of at least one Person in Charge who is over 16 years of age. 2.3 All Entrants must be current financial members of a Yachting Australia (YA) affiliated Sailing Club or Lauderdale Yacht Club 2.4 All Boats entered shall be covered by a valid Third Party and Public Liability Insurance Policy of a Minimum $5Million. Proof of this must be presented to LYCT OOD 2.5 All Crews must complete and submit the declaration and waiver (Appendix B) which indicates that the competing crew is of sound physical condition and do not have any limitations which may prevent them from adequately completing the race. 2.6 It is strongly recommended that entrants have a shore based support person that is not competing and who will be able to be mobile in case of an emergency. See Safety 3.3 below. 2.7 All Eligible Crews must complete and return the Race Entry Form (appendix A) along with (a) the attached personal declaration (appendix B) and (b) a copy of current insurance policy with (c) Visitors an entry fee of $25.00 will apply 2.9 In the case of the race being abandoned before the start due to adverse weather conditions, entry fees will be re-imbursed to all relevant entered boats. 3. Safety: 3.1 All classes will be governed by the Yachting Australia Special Regulations Part 2 – Off the beach boats 3.2 All Entered vessels must carry the following list of Special Requirements Mobile telephone in a waterproof container, that is switched on and working. a tow line no less than 1.5 times the length of your vessel (unless class rules conflict) two (2) Litres of drinking water per crew member approved PFD type 1 or 2 buoyancy vests 3.3 Along the course there will be lookout and potential rescue craft covering sections of the cours. Ensure you have their number and area they bare patrolling in your mobile phone 4. Advertising: 4.1 The event is classified as a category ‘C’ event in accordance with Rule 79 in the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
This event counts double points for the LYCT Long Distance series for each of Saturday and Sunday

All competitors will be bound by the Safety Regulations and racing rules of the ISAF (AYF) I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing (Part 1 Fundamental Rules) Rule 3 Acceptance of the Rules and all other rules that govern this event. All those taking part in this Regatta do so at their own risk and responsibility; and competitors attention is drawn to (Part 1 Fundamental Rules) Rule 4 Decision to Race.
